Poland – March 9, 2018
Northern Illinois
University Study Abroad
My study abroad
group and I have finally arrived in Katowice after what seemed like forever to
get here. Between both airplane and car, the trip took nearly 10 hours. The
little bit I have already witnessed here is absolutely beautiful—the language,
landscaping and architecture. I checked into my hotel room around 6:30 p.m.
(Poland time) and began the process of unpacking my belongings. The hotel room
is pretty simple, yet cozy.
Dinner was
held in the restaurant inside the hotel. There were pierogis and various salads to choose from along
with good company which made for an enjoyable evening. Our first real adventure begins tomorrow at
the historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry. We will be leaving by 8:30 a.m. so I can only hope
we are all able to catch up on sleep before then.
